Big Top Hybrid Door Sign

Welcome to the Club Scrap Big Top Collection Blog Hop.  To return to the start of the hop click here.  My first thoughts when I saw the kit was bright, cheerful, fun, and playful. Scary just didn’t come to mind, but I total took it there.

Upon hearing your eleven year old son to be a zombie clown for Halloween most parents would be appalled, disgusted, or maybe just resigned.  I was ecstatic because now I could use my Big Top kit to scrap the pages.

For today I have a door hanger featuring the Big Top digital kit. My favorite saying in the kit is the “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself… and Clowns.” My son was scared by a clown as a toddler. Ever since then he has had a fascination with clowns. At four he was one for Halloween, so I guess this is the culmination. Now he is the scary clown.

I used the Club Scrap Big Top digital collection to print my son’s pictures and ‘Ethan’s Room’ on photo paper. Of course I had to fussy cut and pop out the zombie walking. Then I printed the ‘clowns’ saying on cardstock. To bring a spooky atmosphere to the papers I use a colored wash. I brushed diluted Lindy's Stamp Gang blazing black magicals on the Big Top ticket stubs & orange print paper. I used Lindy's Stamp Gang drop dead gorgeous green magical on the stripped paper and printed saying.

On the edges and garden railing I used a combination of Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powered in drop dead gorgeous green, sassy sapphire, and twilight jade slate. He pronounced the results awesome and it's proudly displayed on his door.

I hope you have …well not really enjoy, but were interested in how I changed up such a cheerful collection to suit my creepy Halloween pictures. I'll be adding my door sign to the Club Scrap October Link Challenge.  Go by and vote for your favorite Halloween creations.

Tribal Tri-Pane Project

 photo Tribal_BlogHop_Badge_zps9c75a585.jpg

Welcome to the Club Scrap Tribal Blog Hop!  I have a fun desktop display for you today.  This is basically the Club Scrap Navajo Tri-Pane Project made with Tribal Collection Supplies.   Unless otherwise noted all materials are from the Club Scrap Tribal Collection.
The cover is made from two sheets of chipboard with a curved top traced using a plate.  The wave opening was cut using a metal tearing tool as a guide.  Then I echoed the shape using the Tribal red shimmer paper and grey paper strips.
The cover background is the Tribal Eggshell print with clear embossed Tribal shapes.  This was colored over with gelatos in blood orange, mango, and red cherry.  Then a matching homemade gelato mist and black shimmer mist were splattered over the panel.  The clear embossed areas resisted the gelatos.
The “Growth, Harmony and Strength” focal image is a Tribal stamp embossed with the Tribal Hematite power.  I also embossed the edge with hematite power.  After embossing blood orange and mango gelato was rubbed over the backing paper to create a mottled background.
The inside is matted in black paper with red and hematite embossing.  Did I say I love the hematite embossing power?  Again the curved opening echoed with the Tribal red paper and grey paper strips.
I added mats, tags and cut-outs.  The pictures, from a recent family trip, were printed at home with frames made using the Tribal Digital kit.   Have matching paper, stamps, and digital is great!
Thank you for joining in the Blog Hop and for reading my post.  Here is a link to your next stop with Janet.  Also, here is a link back to the start at Club Scrap Creates.

Vivid Vellum

Welcome to Club Scrap's June Blog Hop using the Hopes Collection!

Hopes Bloghop Badge photo HopesBlogHop_Badge_2_zpsebe1df8f.jpg

As soon as I saw the Hopes digital collection I knew I wanted to make a hybrid card.   The hybrid card I'm sharing is made using both traditional card making methods and adding digital elements printed at home.

The background is a digital collage printed on cream and vellum cardstock.  In a happy accident I learn that layering the same print on paper and vellum results in a more vivid image as seen below in a comparison to the cream cardstock image alone.

Photo corners attach the vellum to the card.  I stamped the greeting strip and added pearls for a little shine.  To finish I added a vellum envelope, again made using hybrid methods.  I recolored a Hopes digital paper to have a slightly darker hue and printed it on vellum cardstock.  Then I made my envelope using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board (available from Club Scrap).  I was able to get just enough opaqueness to hide the greeting.  Supplies are from the Club Scrap Hopes Collection (traditional and digital) with added pearls, Club Scrap Earth Hybrid Ink, and dimensional adhesive.

Thank you for joining the Club Scrap Hopes Blog Hop and stopping at my blog.  I you would like to see more of my card creations from the Hopes collection check out the Club Scrap June Scrap Wrap, page 18.   Here is a link to you next stop with Janet.  Here is a link back to the hop start at Club Scrap Creates.
