Altered "Family" Frame

 photo reunionbloghopbadge_zps50fef64f.jpg

Welcome to the Club Scrap Reunion Collection Blog Hop! To return to the start of the hop here.

This kit is all about family so his time I made an altered picture frame to display a current family photo with the beautiful stamped saying "Family: Where life begins and love never ends." To add the saying the long thin unmounted Reunion stamp was cut apart to allow the it to be stacked. I used the Reunion digital kit to add the year to my photo before printing it at home.

I started with a simple frame and painted over the existing design.  I liked the burgundy edge color, so I masked off the sided and inside edge of the frame opening. The background is painted with light blue acrylic paint and drywall tape was used as a stencil over selected areas. I sponged over the top with off-white, grey, and gold acrylic paints.

Next, I used the Reunion waves stamp and Club Scrap hybrid ink to add another layer to the background.  Over that I place stamped waves cut out from the Reunion collection paper.  The bronze cabochon includes reunion paper and sequins from my stash set with Glossy Accents.

The tree was stamped and fussy cut.  The leaves were made with Club Scrap hybrid ink direct to paper technique in three colors.  Then the Martha Stewart leaves and branch deep edge punch was used to make leaves. The sun design was made using Reunion paper and satin ribbon flower along with sequin and a button from my stash. Then I finished with a Reunion ribbon bow.

  6. This kit has turned into my new favorite. partly because of the colors, and partly because of the texture, and a lot due to the who feel and sentiments that came along with it. The frame is perfect. Happy New Year.
