Altered "Family" Frame

 photo reunionbloghopbadge_zps50fef64f.jpg

Welcome to the Club Scrap Reunion Collection Blog Hop! To return to the start of the hop here.

This kit is all about family so his time I made an altered picture frame to display a current family photo with the beautiful stamped saying "Family: Where life begins and love never ends." To add the saying the long thin unmounted Reunion stamp was cut apart to allow the it to be stacked. I used the Reunion digital kit to add the year to my photo before printing it at home.

I started with a simple frame and painted over the existing design.  I liked the burgundy edge color, so I masked off the sided and inside edge of the frame opening. The background is painted with light blue acrylic paint and drywall tape was used as a stencil over selected areas. I sponged over the top with off-white, grey, and gold acrylic paints.

Next, I used the Reunion waves stamp and Club Scrap hybrid ink to add another layer to the background.  Over that I place stamped waves cut out from the Reunion collection paper.  The bronze cabochon includes reunion paper and sequins from my stash set with Glossy Accents.

The tree was stamped and fussy cut.  The leaves were made with Club Scrap hybrid ink direct to paper technique in three colors.  Then the Martha Stewart leaves and branch deep edge punch was used to make leaves. The sun design was made using Reunion paper and satin ribbon flower along with sequin and a button from my stash. Then I finished with a Reunion ribbon bow.

What to Do with a Washboard

     photo 1014_bloghopbadge_zpsb3b409af.jpg

Welcome to the Club Scrap Homestead Blog Hop
To return to the start of the blog hop link here.

My project for this month was inspired by a gag gift.  My husband thought getting me a washboard would be funny. Then it was time to take our annual "boys in the cotton" picture and my Club Scrap homestead kit arrived.  And idea was born....

First I used Panstoria Artisan to create the digital page above using elements of the Club Scrap Homestead digital kit.  The pictures were color sepia and then the color adjusted to a lighter and cooler hue.  I love the softness this two step process created.

Then using elements from my Homestead Club Scrap and Lite Kits I made that washboard into wall art.  I really think the cut apart "This home is filled with endless love and laundry" was perfect.  I hope you like it and thank you for reading.  You next stop is with the talented Janet from Dishing with Janet.  To return to the start hop go here.

    Endless Love Card

Welcome to my World Card Making Day Card: Endless Love

Here is my card for the two different World Card Making Day Blog Hops.  The first is Operation Write Home’s (OWH) World Card Making Day (WCMD) Blog Hop, so the card conforms to OWH guidelines.  The Second is Paper Crafts Magazine’s WCMD Blog Tour.

My card was inspired by the particle greeting "Endless Love" cut from a larger greeting from a Club Scrap Homestead Stamp "This home is full of endless love and laundry." The paper and stamps are from the Club Scrap Homestead and Big Deal Collections with a Stampin' Up punch.

Thank you for stopping by my blog,

Playing with Scraps - CS September Card Sketch

    Thanks for joining me,
Today I'm working on the Club Scrap (CS) September Card Sketch challenge from the CS forums.   I love starting a card from a sketch to focus my ideas. Below is the sketch by Marya. for more information on the challenge see the CS forum.

This time I decided to raid my scraps.  I keep scraps of any technique or art media for when I need a special detail.  Today I decided to work from papers I had out for a twinchie swap (a 2 x 2 inch art panel).  I next picked all the art scraps that went with papers in violet and spring green from the CS Wildflower kit (CS Retreat 2013, I think).   When I was finished I had enough stuff for two cards.

I started with the large violet panel using a new embossing folder and Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays.  I just love the nest detail and the touching quote inside from the CS Take Wing Collection.  The fun part was making a nest.

    • Violet panel
      • Embossing folder
      • LSG Magnolia Magenta Gold Starburst Spray
      • LSG Sweet Violet Purple Teal Starburst Spray
      • Light application of Pan Pastel white
    • Gold panel
      • CS Geometrics Stencil
      • LSG Shabby Turbine Teal Starburst Spray
      • LSG Blue Hawaiian Blue Starburst Spray
      • LSG Sweet Violet Purple Teal Starburst Spray
    • CS Wood tape colored with Gathered Twigs Distress Stain
    • Scrap of teal sprayed as gold panel above
    • Bird
      • Scraps of Alcohol Ink on Glossy Card Stock
      • CS Leaf Stamp - CS Spring WOW 2014
      • Various Archival Inks
      • Stampin' Up Bird and sprig punch
    • Nest
      • Yellow Tulle - CS Spring Chorus Collection
      • Book Page Scraps - Sprayed as gold panel above
      • Strands of blue and lavender embroidery thread
      • Various gems and pearls
    • CS Stamps
      • CS Hybrid Ink - Ocean
      • Love - CS Lock and Key Collection
      • Greeting - CS Take Wing Collection
    • Distressing Edges
      • Distress Ink Evergreen Bough
      • Distress Ink Seedless Preserves

This card started with a blue panel with a some unknown sprays that reminded me of the sky.  You'll see many parts are the same as the above card. Again the quote was just perfect.
    • Violet panel as described above
    • Blue sprayed panel
      • Unknown sprays
      • Clouds with Pan Pastel white, Distress Paint Picket Fence, and White gel pen
      • CS Serenity Stencil
      • LSG Blue Hawaiian Blue Starburst Spray
      • Distress Paint Mustard Seed and Tarnished Brass mixed
    • CS Wood tape colored with Gathered Twigs Distress Stain
    • Yellow Tulle -  CS Spring Chorus Collection
    • Metal embossed panel with added Distress Paint Tarnished Brass
    • Butterflies
      • Scraps of Alcohol Ink on Glossy Card Stock
      • CS Leaf Stamp - CS Spring WOW 2014
      • Various Archival Inks
      • Stampin' Up Butterfly punches
      • Strands of blue and lavender embroidery thread
    • CS Stamps
      • CS Hybrid Ink - Ocean
      • Love and quote - CS Wisteria Collection
      • Also - CS Take Wing Collection
      • Book Page Scraps - Sprayed as gold panel above
    • Distressing Edges
      • Distress Ink Evergreen Bough
      • Distress Ink Seedless Preserves
LOL, I did not realize that I used so much stuff, but this is my style of "art jounaling." I had a lot of fun working on these cards and I hope you'll give this sketch a try.

    Interactive Cinema Album

    0814 Hop Badge photo 0814_BlogHop_badge_zps151630b6.jpg

Welcome to the Club Scrap Cinema Collection Blog Hop! I'm so glad you've stopped by my blog.  If you would like to return to the start of the hop here is the link.

The Club Scrap Cinema Collection is so beautiful I decided to make an album for myself. I love pockets and flaps so I chose to make a single segment version of Laura Denison's Foto Folio Two. The materials are taken from the Club Scrap Cinema Collection unless otherwise noted. To that I added some embellishments, art work, punches, and of course pictures.

I worked on most interior pages during a weekend crop, but I forgot to bring my CS Cinema UM stamps (Oh No!). Turns out the CS Cinema cutaparts were able to see me through most of the album.

For the cover I add flowers, leaves, "Melt It" buttons, and distressed tin embellishments as described in my Club Scrap Greetings to Go Cards' post. In the background you can barely see the Cinema reel stencil that I colored in with a wine marker and silver pen.  The tabs were made with some Crop-a-Dial corner punches and all was antiqued with Distress Stain in Black Soot. Throughout the book I have used the cutaparts numbers to make similar tabs to divide up the pictures. The punch used on the cover is Martha Stewart Deco Fan corner and edge.

Tab one "4th of July" shows our day at the lake. The photo is black and white colored with Distress Ink in various colors.

Tab two "Sunset" features Cinema stars UM Stamps in Lindy's Stamp Gang Hydrangea Blue Moon embossing powder on the black panel.

Tab Three "Band" includes some art work leftover from my Cinema Cards using Izink with the CS Get the Picture Collection stencil.

Tab Four "Sports" features a movie quote to go with the sepia baseball photo.  The title was printed with CS Cinema Digital Collection art work and font.

On the inside flap, the CS Cinema Lite collection tan letters were colored with Inktense pencils and water activated to get a distressed look.

Tab Five "Scouts" uses small 1" x 1.25" pictures on a filmstrip cutapart as in the CS Creates post "Four New Ways to Use Cutaparts."

Tab Six "Cats vs Dogs" uses letters colored with back Inktense pencils and a filmstrip cutapart.

Tab Seven "The Grad" includes a dry embossed panel colored with Brushed Pewter Distress Paint using a brayer to color only the embossed locations.

Tab Eight "Friends" features stamped camera images from the Club Scrap Get the Picture UM Stamps made with Picket Fence Distress Paint. The flap uses a Martha Stewart Deco Tassel corner punch for the tin embellishment. Stamped sentiments are from the CS Picnic and Dungarees Collection.

During the weekend crop I said I wish I could use a video to show the interactive nature of this album and a friend said sure you can.  So, she helped me learned how to make a video and edit it. Here is a video flip though on my new YouTube channel "Debby's MIPC."

    Oopsie Daisy Shine On Canvas

     photo 0714_BlogHopBadge_zps11dfbe72.jpg

Welcome to the Club Scrap Oopsie Daisy Collection Blog Hop! I'm so glad you've stopped by my blog.  If you would like to return to the start of the hop link here.

I just fell in loved the Oopsie Daisy art work as soon as I saw the Club Scrap Kit.  So, after many false starts trying making my own version of collection's daises, I decided to used the art work from this 8.5 x 11 printed paper as my canvas focal image.

I started by making a sky background on my 12 x 12 canvas using Derwent Inktense blocks in blues using a water mister to blend.  Once dry the Intense is permanent, then I added Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Hydrangea Blue allowing it to puddle and added spots of Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Spray California Poppy Gold.

The main flower image is was cut out from two sheets of paper.  First I stamped the Daisy definition stamp in ash Club Scrap hybrid ink and heat set to make it permanent. I love using heat set hybrid ink in all the wonderful Club Scrap colors for any wet mixed media or watercolors. Next I added a layer of Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Glory of the Seas Gold. The flower center was enhanced with flower soft added to the center.  Next the cut daisies were mounted with foam squares to add dimension.  The lettering uses the Club Stamp collection Vanilla Thicker letters with Lindy Stamp Gang Embossing Power in Morning Glory Azure for extra shine.

The canvas border is painted with grey acrylic paint and Club Stamp collection paper. Half inch strips of caramel paper were mitered.  The black Club Stamp collection paper was cut free hand in a wavy pattern strips.  Each strip was colored lightly with a gold Playcolor metallic paint (from a past Club Scrap Kit) and distressed the edges, before layering on the canvas.

The artwork in this collection is beautiful and I had a lot of fun making this canvas.  Your next stop is with the talented Janet from Dishing with Janet and the beginning of the hop is at Club Scrap Creates here.
